a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born November 16, 1757, at Neuenmnllster, in Holstein. For some time superintendent of the evangelical congregations in Austria and pastor, at Vienna, he was called in 1796 to Kiel, where he died, August 23, 1835. He published Sammlung einiger Kanzelvortrage (Vienna, 1791): — Oeffentliche Religiose Vortrage (ibid. 1793): — Anleitung zur grundlichen Erkenntniss der christlichen Religion (ibid. 1794; 6th ed. 1834).
