a Roman Catholic theologian of Germany, was born of Protestant parentage at Leipsic in 1798. He studied at Jena and Erlangen, joined the church of Rome in 1832, and was preacher at Munich, where he died, May 11, 1865. He published, Bibliothek Christlicher Denker (Leipsic. 1830-32, 2 vols.): — Die Kirche und ihre Gegner (Ratisbon, 1833): — Antwort auf das Sendschreiben eines Gliedes der evangelischen Kirche, etc. (Landshut, eod.).
