1 Chronicles 17:1-27 . Davids Purpose to Build a Temple is Hindered by Nathan; God’ s Promise to him; his Prayer (see notes on 2 Samuel 7).
1 Chronicles 17:1 . in his house: the words in 2 Samuel 7:1, “ and the Lord had given him rest from all his enemies round about,” are omitted here as the Chronicler, looking back upon the history of those times, saw that this “ rest” had been of but short duration.
