After one year of unexampled success, he accepted a call of the London Missionary Society to go to New Amsterdam, in Berbice, British Guiana, where he labored faithfully until 1848. He then returned to England, and became the minister of a chapel in London, where he remained twenty-four years. His last years were spent in Southport. He died at Bryniach, Ruthin, February 3, 1882.
