(2 Samuel 23:35). (See HEZRO). Hez'ro (Heb. Chetsro', הֶצרוֹ, i. q. Hezron; Sept. Ἀσαραί,Vulg. Hezro), a Carmelite, one of David's distinguished warriors (1 Chronicles 11:37). He is called in the margin and in 2 Samuel 23:35, HEZRAI (Chetsray', חֶצְרִי, Sept. Ἀσαρί,Vulg. Hesrai). B.C. 1046. Kennicott, however (Dissertation, p. 207). decides, on the almost unanimous authority of the ancient version, that Hezrai is the original form of the name.
