(הִר הָעֲמָלֵקַי; Sept. ὄρος τοῦ Ἀμαλήκ; Vulg. Mons Amalech), a place near Pirathon, in the tribe of Ephraim (Judges 12:15), apparently so called from some branch of that Canaanitish clan settled there (comp. Judges 5:14, שָׁרְשָׁם בִּעֲמָלֵק מַנַּי אֶפְרִיַם, from Ephraim [came those] whose seat [was] by Amalek, A.V. "out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek"). (See AMALEKITE).
